Product Overview:
The fully automatic flash point tester is a professional detection instrument used to measure the flash point of flammable liquids (such as petroleum products, chemical raw materials, lubricants, etc.). The "flash point" refers to the lowest temperature at which the vapor on the surface of the flammable liquid mixes with air to form a flammable mixture and then encounters a fire source, causing a brief flash (but not continuous burning). It is a core indicator for assessing the flammability and explosiveness risk of flammable liquids, classifying hazard levels, and ensuring the safety of production and storage. It is widely used in quality control and safety supervision in fields such as petroleum, chemical industry, energy, and transportation.
Working principle:
The core of the fully automatic flash point tester (both close and open types) is to achieve the automatic and precise determination of the flash point (and ignition point) of petroleum products by following a closed-loop process of precise temperature control - automatic ignition - flash detection - data processing, in accordance with the corresponding standards.
Sample Preparation and Initialization: The samples to be tested are injected into the corresponding test cups (closed cups / open cups) according to the standard requirements. The instrument uses built-in sensors to detect the ambient temperature, humidity, and real-time air pressure data collected by the German atmospheric pressure sensor to automatically correct the influence of air pressure on the test results.
Temperature Rise Control: The instrument follows the temperature rise curves specified in ASTM D93/GB/T 261-2021 (for closed type) or ASTM D92/GB3536-2008 (for open type) and uses a PT100 platinum resistance temperature sensor to continuously measure the sample temperature. Combined with a high-precision AD converter and a unique control algorithm, it precisely regulates the power of the heater to achieve uniform temperature rise of the sample.
Automatic Ignition: When the sample temperature approaches the preset flash point range, the instrument activates the electronic ignition device. For the closed type, it follows the preset three experimental steps, while for the open type, it automatically completes the ignition action in accordance with the standard requirements. The electronic flame and the gas flame have the same effect and are safe without interference.
Flash Detection and Result Locking: Using high-frequency ion ring flame detection technology, the instrument continuously monitors whether a flash occurs on the sample surface. It quickly and accurately captures the flash signal to avoid false detections and missed detections. Once a flash is detected, the instrument immediately locks the current temperature as the flash point value (for the open type, it can continue to increase the temperature to detect the ignition point value). At the same time, it automatically cuts off the heater.
Cooling and Data Processing: After the measurement is completed, the instrument activates the forced air cooling system to rapidly cool down, and simultaneously stores the measurement results through the NVM data storage device (which can be saved for 10 years without loss). It supports a micro embedded thermal printer for immediate data printing, and for the closed type, it can also synchronize data through a mobile phone APP or cloud platform, making it convenient for query and analysis.
